BELINDA LEE RUSSELL
A contemporary, mixed-media painter

Belinda Lee Russell is a contemporary, multi-media painter who combines both eastern and western art styles in her painting. Born and raised in her mother’s native Australia, but with frequent visits to her father’s native Singapore, she likes to fuse the experience of her hybrid heritage in her artwork, both thematically and in the techniques she employs.

Whether she is working with ink on paper or dyes on silk, she loves to mix the fluid line of oriental brushstroke painting with the luminescent hues found in watercolors and on silk.

Two themes which often occupy her artwork are “motherhood” and “the spiritual journey.” Her main inspiration comes from her husband, two children, and her practice of contemplative journaling.

Belinda has lived and exhibited her art in Australia, Asia and the United States. She currently lives in metropolitan Washington DC with her family.
